Megan is a Trainee Solicitor working within our Wills and Probate department.
Having studied Law at the University of Derby, Megan went on to complete her Postgraduate Master of Laws, Legal Practice Course at Nottingham Law School, graduating in 2020 with a distinction. Before joining Alexander & Co, Megan spent time at firms in Derby and Nottingham building up her experience.
Megan is available to advise on Wills, Powers of Attorney and Probate matters.
Away from the office, Megan enjoys spending time with family and friends, trying out new restaurants and volunteers as a Guide Leader for a group in the local area.
Katie joined the firm as a trainee in 2004 and qualified as a solicitor in 2006 after gaining her legal practicing certificate from the College of Law in Birmingham.
Since qualification she has specialised in commercial and residential property services for individuals and businesses.
Katie can advise and assist with all property matters, from buying and selling your home to commercial property and lease transactions.
Katie also has experience of dealing with both personal and premises licence applications.
When away from the office, Katie enjoys walking and time with her family.
Debbie works within our conveyancing team, assisting Katie Basey in all property transactions for private individuals and businesses.
Debbie has extensive conveyancing experience having worked within property departments of local legal practices for many years.
Away from work Debbie enjoys travelling and is a keen gardener.
Kirsty is an experienced administrator, having worked within the legal environment for a number of years, and provides administrative support and assistance to our Wills & Probate team.
During her free time Kirsty enjoys going on long walks, eating out, decorating and gardening and hosting for family and friends.
Jane is an Associate member of both the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development as well as the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives and has worked within the legal sector across the East Midlands for over 20 years.
Jane's role spans the firm and includes HR, recruitment and training, facilities management, and assisting in regulatory matters.
Outside of work, Jane enjoys spending time with friends and family.
Caroline is a conveyancer with over 30 years' experience of buying and selling residential properties in Derby and other parts of England and Wales, who has worked at the practice for more than 20 years.
Outside of work Caroline is involved in various Church activities and a Derby County Council run scheme called 'Talk English' which enables asylum seekers to access conversational English.
Caroline reads a lot and enjoys period dramas and "Location Location Location" is one of her favourite television programmes!
Jess joined our team in 2021 and provides general office support to the AandCo Team. Jess also works alongside our practice management team in caring for various administrative duties.
In her spare time Jess likes to go on summer holidays and spend time with her family and friends.
Having joined the firm as a paralegal Alice has now commenced her training contract and works as a Trainee Solicitor in the Family and Litigation departments.
Alice graduated from University of Derby with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and also completed Master of Laws and Legal Practice at Birmingham City University after receiving Postgraduate Diploma with Commendation in Legal Practice.
Away from the office, Alice enjoys going on days out with her family and trying out different restaurants.
Tim is the head of our Wills & Probate team. He has specialised in this area of law throughout his legal career and is able to advise clients in relation to Wills and probate matters, Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection work, trusts, tax and elderly client issues such as residential care fees planning.
Tim completed his law degree at Nottingham University and went on to complete both a Masters degree in law and his Legal Practice Course at Nottingham Law School. Tim qualified as a solicitor in 2009, joining Alexander & Co in 2012. He became a partner in 2014.
In his free time, Tim enjoys spending time with his young family.
Having joined the firm as a paralegal John has now commenced his training contract and works as a Trainee Solicitor in the Wills & Probate Department.
John completed his Legal Practice course at Nottingham Law School having graduated with his LLB (Int.) from Lancaster University, where he also spent a year studying abroad in Amsterdam.
To relax, John enjoys walking his dog, and being regularly disappointed by his favourite football team.
Having recently studied Law at A Level, Samantha has a keen interest in developing her skills within the legal profession and joined Alexander & Co in 2021 as a Business Administration Apprentice providing administrative assistance to the practice management and wider A & Co team.
Away from the office Samantha enjoys visiting new places and socialising with friends and family.
Andrea has gained extensive experience working in this area of law for over 20 years.
Andrea joined Alexander & Co in 2016 from a large East Midlands firm. Andrea advises on Wills, probate, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection matters.
Andrea's hobbies are going to the gym, walking her dog, going to the theatre and socialising with friends and family.
Bill is an experienced civil litigator and provides no nonsense advice on a broad range of legal issues, including professional negligence cases, landlord and tenant claims, partnership disputes, contract disputes, contested probate and personal injury.
Bill obtained his law degree from Nottingham University in 1977.
He qualified as a solicitor in 1982 and worked at a firm in Nottingham for most of his career before moving to join our team in 2016.
Bill's hobbies are walking, home brewing and playing drums.
Sarah works in our Wills & Probate team and has considerable experience in all aspects of private client work, specialising in Trusts and Inheritance Tax Planning. Sarah can also advise clients in relation to Wills, Estate Administration (including cross-border estates) Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection matters.
After studying Law with French Law & Language at the University of East Anglia, Sarah went on to complete her Legal Practice Course at Nottingham Law School. Sarah was admitted as a solicitor in January 2000 and was proud to become a full member of The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) in 2008, having gained a Distinction in the STEP Diploma.
Sarah is registered on the Mencap List of Specialist Solicitors, and she has presented at seminars and given radio interviews on private client topics.
Away from the office, Sarah enjoys ballroom dancing, yoga and walking in the countryside.
Beth works as a legal administrator within our property team assisting with various administrative duties to support the team.
Away from work, Beth enjoys going to watch the local football team, socialising with family and friends, going for walks with the dog and travelling.
Sharon works within our residential property team, assisting with all aspects of conveyancing to make the process of buying and selling properties as smooth and efficient as possible for our clients.
Having worked within local legal practices for a number of years Sharon has derived considerable knowledge and experience of the conveyancing process.
Outside of work, Sharon enjoys long walks with the dog and spending time with her family/friends.
Susie joined the firm in 2011 as a legal administrator and has worked within legal firms in the local area for many years.
Susie has considerable experience in both the financial, compliance and administrative management of legal practices.
Susie likes to travel and explore new places.
Lydia is an experienced litigation solicitor advising on matters such as commercial and residential possession/forfeiture, landlord and tenant disputes, title disputes (boundaries, adverse possession rights of way), TOLATA disputes, contractual disputes, recovery of rent/debt and contested probate.
Having trained and qualified as a Legal Executive in 2008 Lydia went on to study a Graduate Diploma in Law at De Montfort University and complete her Legal Practice Course, subsequently qualifying as a Solicitor in 2013.
Away from work, Lydia enjoys spending time with her young family, holidays and eating out.
Manesha works in our matrimonial department and provides assistance and advice in family law including divorce, financial matters, cohabitation, issues involving children and pre and post nuptial agreements.
Manesha graduated with a degree in law from University of Liverpool in 2003.
She qualified as a solicitor in 2007.
Manesha assisted Alexander & Co as a locum solicitor before joining the firm as a permanent member of the team in 2017.
Manesha is a member of Resolution - committed to the constructive resolution of family disputes.
She is also a committee member of Derby & District Law Society and its Family Law sub-committee
In her spare time, Manesha is an avid spectator of cricket.
Chloe is a legal assistant who works in the conveyancing department with Katie Basey in all property transactions for private individuals and businesses.
She is attending BPP University Law School on an apprenticeship course as a route to qualifying as a solicitor, which she started in September 2018.
In her spare time Chloe enjoys going to the gym, travelling, exploring new places and socialising with friends.
Graham joined the firm in March 2021 as a Conveyancing Executive. Graham completed his law degree at the University of Warwick and can provide advice in respect of residential sales and purchases, remortgages and transfers of equity.
In his free time Graham enjoys travelling and is a big football fan.
